Valery Chtak is a Muscovite skateboarder who wishes he had been born on a Glasgow council estate. He started drawing at the age of 16, after he locked himself in his bedroom for a month and a half. He is part of the absurdist group Radek. Since 1998 he studied privately in the studio of Avdei Ter-Oganian in the School of Contemporary Art and later in the studio of Anatoly Osmolovsky. The artist lives and works in Moscow.
