Yuli KLEVER 1850 — 1924Юлій КЛЕВЕР • Юлий Юльевич КЛЕВЕРYuli Klever was born in Derpt, Estonia in 1850. He studied with K. Kyugelgen in Derpt in 1860’s. Later at the St. Petersburg Art Academy as a non-enrolled student (1867-1868) and as a full-time student (1868-1876). Active in St. Petersburg. Member of the “Comradeship of Artists” group, of which he was a founder. Specialized in landscapes. Taught at St. Petersburg Art Academy; from 1902 at the Drawing School of the OPKh. Became an academician in 1878. Died in 1924. |
