Studied at St. Petersburg Art Academy in the studios of B. Villevalde and P. Chistakhov (1879-1885) and later in Paris (1886-1889). Returned to Ukraine in 1889. In 1912-1917 taught at St. Petersburg Art Academy. In 1936-1941 taught at the Kharkiv Art Institute. Recepient of the State Award of the USSR in 1941. Died in Simferopol, Crimea in 1944. |
