He studied philology at the Moscow University in 1909-1912 and was a student at the Moscow Archeological Institute. Shaposhnikov studied art at the school of K.Yuon in the studios of N.Sapnov and N.Pheofilaktov. He graduated from the Roma art academy in Italy in 1914. During and after the Revolution the artist was a member of a number of art related groups. As part of Stalin repressions against avant-garde artists, Shaposhnikov was arrested in 1929. The artist died in Moscow in 1956. |
