| Oscar RABIN 1928 — Оскар РАБІН • Оскар РАБИНOscar Rabine was born in 1928 in Moscow. He studied painting in the studio of Evguenyi Kropivnitski.
In 1945 he went to Riga, his mother`s home town, to study at the Art School. In 1947 he returned to Moscow and continued studying at Moscow Art School. In 1957 the artist was awarded an honorary diploma at the Mocow`s Youth Festival. During 1958 - 1965 a group of young artists gathered around Oscar Rabine. Later this group was called «the Lianozovo group». Worked at the studio of decorative art during 1958 – 1967. Organized the first non-conformism “Bulldozer’s exhibition” that took place on waste ground on September 15, 1974. The exhibition was raised by KGB’s bulldozers. In 1978 moved to Paris. Personal exhibitions took place at Grosvenor Gallery, London (1965), Galerie Jaquester, Paris (1977), Galerie Holst Halversens Kunsthandler, Oslo (1982), Galerie Steink, Vienna (1983), Galerie Marie-Therese, Paris and CASE Museum of Russian Contemporary Art in Exile, Jersey City (1984), Galerie Holst Halversens Kunsthandler, Oslo (1985). Became French citizen in 1985.
