Began his studies at the Kyiv gymnasium in the studio of I.Soshenko. 1861-68 studied at the St.Petersburg Academy of Art, of which he became an academician in 1874, and then a professor in 1878. Active in France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Was involved in the Kyiv Drawing School and was one of the organizers of the KkhU. Died in Italy in 1914. |
