Isaak Izrailevich Brodsky was born in the village of Sofionovka, nearby Zaporozhya, Ukraine in 1884. Painter and graphic artist. Studied at the Odessa Art College in 1896-1902 in the studio of K. Kostandi and Ladyzhensky and at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg in 1902-1908 in the studio of Y. Repin. After receiving the scholarship from the Academy of Arts traveled to Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain and England in 1909-1911. Brodsky lived in Leningrad. He taught at the Art Academy in 1932-1939. The artist died in Leningrad in 1939.
