Viktor Dmitrievich ZAMIRAILO 1868 — 1939Віктор Дмитрович ЗАМИРАЙЛО • Виктор Дмитриевич ЗАМИРАЙЛОViktor Dmitrevich Zamirailo – Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Kyiv Art School under M. Murashko in 1881-1886; and with M. Vrubel in 1883-1889. Participated in the World of Art exhibitions in 1911-1924. Beginning in 1885 he painted murals for various churches in Kyiv and other cities. He also decorated the Kazan train station in Moscow. In the late 1890s, he worked as a book illustrator and from 1905 to 1906 – created drawings for pre-Revolutionary satirical journals. Zamirailo went blind and died in a home for elderly in 1939. |
