Studied at Shtiglits Technical Drawing College in 1915-1917 and 1920-1921; Leningrad Academy of Arts in 1922-1925. Active in Leningrad. Began exhibiting in 1921. Member of Krug in 1926-1931 (founder). Became Soviet academician in 1958. Awarded Stalin prize in 1946; the title ‘People’s Artist of the USSR’. Best known as a graphic artist. Most paintings by Pakhomov were made in 1920s through 1930s. Died in Leningrad in 1973. |
