Nikolia Vasilievich Kharitonov was born in Yaroslavl province in 1880. Studied in icon-painting studio, Valaam Monastery in 1895-1897; at Drawing School of OPKh and L. Dmitriev-Kavkazski’s studio-school, St. Petersburg; at St. Petersburg Art Academy in 1901-1919. Active in St. Petersburg until early 1920s. Also active in Western Europe including long stay in Paris in 1912. Moved to New York in 1920s. Member of Commune of Artists from 1910 and Kuindzhi Society in 1910s. Exhibited with Itinerants in 1916. Died in New York in 1944.
