Studied at the Central Technical Art College of the Baron Shtiglitz in 1909-1914. In 1916-1917 studied avant-garde theories and executed his first abstract paintings. At that time the artist met Malevich, Tatlin, Filonov, and Kandinsky. Worked at the Petrograd Museum of Art and Culture in 1921-1927. Became a constructivist in 1920s. In 1929 moved to France. Participated in the Paris exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of abstract art in 1957. Retrospective exhibition of Mansuroff’s works took place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris. The artist died in Paris in 1983. |
