Evgeniy Rukhin was born in Saratov in 1943. Graduated in geology from the University of Leningrad, but learned painting by unofficially attending lectures at the Mukhina College of Art. Died in mysterious circumstances as a result of a fire in his studio in the Spring of 1976.
