Valeriy Skrypka was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine into a family of artist in 1964. He graduated from the Kyiv Academy of Arts with a Master’s Degree in 1992. The artist immigrated to the USA in 1993. Skrypka synthesizes images from his Ukrainian past with his own perceptions in imaginative works.
