In 1949-1953 studied at the Moscow secondary art school and later at Minsk Theatrical Institute, from where he was expelled for “formalism”. Entered the Academy of Art and Sculpture in Leningrad in 1955 but soon was expelled from the Academy again for “formalism”. In 1958 graduated from Leningrad Theatrical Institute, department of stage design. At the Theatrical Institute the artist studied in the studio of N. Akimov. In 1960s exhibited his paintings at the semi-formal apartment exhibitions. Emigrated in 1977. Exhibited in Austria (1975), West Germany (1975), France (1976), West Germany (1976). Lives and works in Paris. |
