Konchalovsky studied at the studio of Raevska-Ivanova in Kharkiv, Académie Julian, Paris (1897-1898) under Laurence and Benjamin-Konstant, and the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1898-1907) under Tvorozhnikov, Savinsky and Kovalevsky. He was the founder of the Jack of Diamonds group (1910). At the early stages of his artistic career Konchalovsky was influenced by cubism. From 1920 he painted portraits, landscapes, genre and still life paintings. The artist held personal exhibits in Moscow (1922, 1927-1930) and Paris (1925). He died in Moscow in 1956. |
