Outstanding graphic artist, produced some paintings. Studied with icon-painter, Pokrovsk; Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1904-1905; 1907-1910; at S. Hollosy’s School, Munich, c. 1906-1907. Active in Moscow (in Saratov in 1918-1921). Began exhibiting in 1906. Member of MTKh from 1912-1913; Free Arts from 1924 (founding member); OMKh c. 1930. Exhibited with World of Art in 1911; Union of Russian Artists in 1912 and 1923; Itinerants in 1914-1916; AkhRR in 1923. Taught at Saratov Free Art Studios around 1918-1921; Moscow Art Institute in 1935-1940. Director of Saratov Art Museum in 1918-1921. Best known as a graphic artist. Decorated festivals in Saratov in 1918s. Died in 1940. |
