Painter, graphic and monumental artist, worked as illustrator, propaganda artist, theatre, film and TV designer. Studied at “Vchutemas” Higher State Art College in the studios of S. Malutin, V. Favorsky, V. Filileyev (1920-1925). Pimenov’s early works depict the greatness of development. Later the artist has become successful in producing genre paintings about “young” Moscow of the 1960’s, showcasing contemporary and cosmopolitan settlings and settlers. In 1945-1972 Pimenov was a professor at the Cinema Institute. He died in Moscow in 1977. |
