Olga Chernysheva was born in Moscow in 1962. She is a contemporary artist working in film, photography, drawing and object-based mediums. She holds a BA from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, Moscow and an MA from the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam. The artist lives and works in Moscow and Amsterdam.
