Vasily Maximovich Maximov was born in Lopino village, nearby Novaya Lagoda, Russia. Genre painter. He studied at the icon painting studios in St. Petersburg in 1855-1862 and at the Arts Academy in St. Petersburg in 1863-1866. The artist lived in St. Petersburg and in the village. Maximov died in St. Petersburg in 1911.
