Sergei Ivanovich Lobanov was born in Moscow in 1887. Painter and also known as a graphic artist. Studied at Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1907-1913; in the studios of S.V. Malyutin and K.A. Korovin and at the I.I. Mashkov’s studio-school in Moscow in 1913-1915. Active in Moscow. Member of Jack of Diamonds in 1910-1912; OMKh from 1929. Exhibited with Jack of Diamonds in 1910; World of Art in 1921; AkhRR in 1922-1924; Heat-Colour in 1924-1928; Four Arts. Died in 1943.
