Studied at Odessa Art College, Munich Art Academy and St. Petersburg Art Academy in the studio of I. Repin, P. Chistakhov, A. Kiselev. Since 1912 lived and worked in St. Petersburg where he painted landscapes, genre paintings and portraits. In 1915 started the Jewish Art society. After the Revolution participated in many exhibitions in Moscow and Petrograd. Since 1925 lived and worked in Paris where he exhibited in gallery Tedesco, J. Charpentier and also in Lion. Participated in a group exhibition of Russian artists in Brussels, Copenhagen, Berlin, Belgrade, Paris. In 1933 moved to New York. In the United States together with B. Grigoriev and A. Iakovleff taught at the School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Died in New York in 1937. |
