Studied at the Leningrad Art University, department of restoration in 1978-1982. Worked as a restoration and preservation specialist at the State Russian Museum in 1982-1993. The artist lives and works in both Bonn and St. Petersburg since 1993. Over the last 17 years Golubenkov restored over 1,000 works by Russian and European old masters. The artist also participated in a number of museum exhibitions. Two works by Golubenkov are in a permanent collection of the Russian State Museum, department of contemporary sculpture and painting of the 20th Century.
