Dmitriy Semenovich Stelletskiy was born in Brest-Litovsky, Grodno province, Belorussia in 1875. Studied at Imperial Academy of Arts in 1896-1903; R. Julien’s studio-school in Paris in 1904. Active in St. Petersburg in 1904-1914; France from 1914. Began exhibiting in 1903. Member of Union of Russian Artists from 1910; World of Art from 1912. Exhibited with New Society of Artists in 1906, 1907; Union of Russian Artists in 1906-1909, 1911, 1912; World of Art 1906-1913. Painted stylised pictures under influence of ancient Russian art. Best known as a sculptor. Also a theatre artist, graphic artist, ceramic artist. Died in Paris suburbs in 1947.
