Alla Horska (Alla Gorskaya) was born in 1929 in Yalta. She was a monumental painter, graphic artist, theatre set and costume designer and a civil activist. She graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute in 1954. The artist lived and worked in both Kyiv and Yalta. She was married to V.Zaretsky. For defending Ukrainian human rights activists such as Horyn, Zalyvacha, Karavansky, Chornovil she was excluded from the Artists’ Union and was prosecuted by KGB. The artist died tragically in unknown circumstances in 1970.
