Vadym Odaynik was born in 1925 in Odessa. Graduated from Kyiv Art Institute in 1952, where he studied in the studios of S. Hryhoryev, K. Yelevy, S. Yerzhykovsky, V. Kostetsky, I. Shtilman and M. Sharonov. Began exhibiting in 1950. Specialized in easel painting, producing thematic, landscape and still life paintings. Died in Kyiv in 1984.
