Yulo Iokhannesovich SOOSTER 1924 — 1970Юло СУСТЕР • Юло СУСТЕРYulo Iokhannesovich Sooster was born in Khiiumaa, Estonia in 1924. Non-conformist artist of 1960s. Studied at Tartu Art Institute in 1945-1949 (until arrested). In prison camps in Karaghanda region, Kazakhstan during 1949-1956. Active in Moscow from 1957. Began exhibiting no later than 1958. Influenced young Estonian artists. Died in Moscow in 1970. |
