Юрій ЛУЦКЕВИЧ • Юрий ЛУЦКЕВИЧ

Born in 1934 in Kirovograd. Lutskevich graduated from Kyiv Art Institute in 1959 where he studied in the studio of G. Melikhov, V. Puzirkov and S. Grigoriev; in 1969 the artist completed Master Studio at Academy of Art of the USSR under M. Deregus. Member of the Artists Union of Ukraine. First exhibited in 1959. Lutskevich was a water colorist and painter of genre paintings, portraits, and landscapes. All are executed in the tradition of Ukrainian Baroque style with elements of folk art and are characterized by the use of vivid, optimistic color palette.
