He graduated from the Russian Academy of Arts in 1931 and during 1932-1933 studied in the studio of Isaak Brodsky. He taught at the Leningrad Arts Academy in 1933-1942. The artist remained in Leningrad during the World War II blockade. He painted works on the subject of historic-revolution in the manner of historiography. Vladimir Serov is the author of political posters and a number of illustrations. The artist died in Moscow in 1968. |
