Petr Ivanovich LIVOFF 1882 — 1944Петро Іванович ЛЬВОВ • Петр Иванович ЛЬВОВPetr Ivanovich Livoff was born in 1882 in Tobolsk, Russia. 1897-99 studied with N.P.Ulyanov at Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1990-92;, at Imperial Academy of Arts 1902-04. He was active in St.Petersburg and Moscow. Moved to Khabarovsk in 1915 and was active there until 1923.Began exhibiting in 1909.Member of World of Art; was a founding member of Four Arts in 1924. Exhibited with the Nuew Society of Artists form 1909, World of Art and Union of Youth 1910-12 (“Donkey’s Tail” show), Moscow Painters 1925. 1932-33 exhibited at Artists of the Russian Federation over Fifteen Years. Taught at Moscow VkhuTeMas/VkhuTeIn in 1924-29, Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture 1933-35, and Moscow Art Institute 1935-1941. Died in Perm in 1944. Specialized in landscapes but best know as a graphic artist. Also a sculptor. |
