Risbek Akhmetov is a Kazakh artist who moved away from Socialist Realism and turned to ancient Kazakh artistic traditions for inspiration. He studied at Tashkent Arts and Theatre Institute of A.N.Ostrovskii. Works by Risbek Akhmetov are held in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow and Kasteev State Museum of Arts, Almaty.
