Victor SHTETS 1976 — Віктор ШТЕЦЬ • Виктор ШТЕЦVictor Shtets was born in Uzhhorod, Ukraine in 1976. He graduated from the A.Erdeli Uzhhorod Art College in 1995 and from The Lviv National Academy of Arts in 2001. He is a follower of Transcarpathian School of painting. He has created a series of portraits of rectors of the Lviv Polytechnic National University. 16 portraits on display on the second floor hallway of the University are an example of how masterful Shtets portrays personalities in the best tradition of portraits by Albert Erdeli. In his series of landscapes depicting Carpathian villages and mountains during all seasons of the year the artist’s talent and love for his native land can be compared to the one by Joseph Bokshai.
