Mikhail Alekseevich Kostin was born in Rostov on Don in 1918. Studied at Moscow Art Institute until 1942. Active in Vladivostok in the late 1940s and thereafter in Moscow. Taught at Vladivostok art college in the late 1940s. Chairman of Marine Union of Artists in the later 1940s. Died in 1972.
