Nicolas Poliakoff was born in Moscow in 1899, he was the older brother of Serge Poliakoff (1900-1969). Nicolas Poliakoff lived in Paris and worked in the circle of André Lhote. The artist is know for his typical of the later modernist painters Cubist figures and nudes.
