Viktor Puzyrkov was born in Dnipropetrovsk in 1918. National artist of the USSR, honored artist of the Ukrainian SSR, Shevchenko State Prize Winner, member of Artists Union of Ukraine. Studied at Dnipropetrovsk Art College in 1936-1938, at the Kyiv Art Institute in 1938-1941 in the studio of K. Yeleva, F. Krychevsky, O. Shovkunenko, M. Panin and S. Gerasimov. Studied in 1942-1943 in Moscow Art Institute (in Samarkhand) and again in Kyiv Art Institute in 1944-1946. Puzyrkov was the head of art studios at Kyiv Art Institute for almost 50 years. One of the most prominent painting “Chornomortsi” is a part of Tretyakov’s gallery exposition in Moscow. Painted many seascapes and bright still life painting in impressionistic style. Died in 1999 in Kyiv.
