Pena, who was the teacher of Chagall. In 1919 moved to Moscow with an intention to enter Free State Art College but soon returned to Vitebsk, where he entered the Higher Art School, where he studied under Malevich. In 1922 Malevich with his students, including Chashnik moved to Petrograd. The artist entered the porcelain factory where he worked together with Nikolai Suetin. Chashnik also worked with Malevich developing architectons. Eventually Chashnik developed his own suprematistic style. The artist died in Leningrad in 1929. |
