He studied at the St. Petersburg Arts Academy in 1891-1897. Since from 1903 Plotnikov went on traveling around Russia documenting in his paintings Russian historical landmarks. During these trips the artist collected Russian antiquities. The artist also collected ethnographical objects and documented his finding in numerous photographs. The artist died in 1917. The place of his death is unknown. |
