Studied at Moscow’s college of art, sculpture and architecture (1897-1903) in the studios of V. Serov and K. Korovin and private studios in Paris. One of the leading artists of the “Blue rose” (golubaya roza) group. Member of the “world of art” and “four arts” groups. Studied iconography. Was influenced by V. Borisov-Musatov.
